In keeping with its mission to support scholastic endeavors of students pursuing a degree in health care information technology, the Iowa Chapter of HIMSS will award two scholarships for 2010. Each scholarship is in the amount of $1,000 for students pursuing degrees and careers in the healthcare information and management systems industry.
Goal
The Iowa HIMSS Chapter scholarship program is designed to encourage and promote individuals to pursue degrees and careers in the healthcare information and management systems industry.
• The amount of the scholarship is $1000 and is given annually
• Two scholarships will be given- one nontraditional and one traditional student
• The scholarship will be presented at the May 6, 2010 Chapter event
The Scholarship Process
• The Chapter will provide the on-line application form
• Reviewers from the Chapter Board of Directors will review all applications and choose a recipient
• The call for applications will be announced to the Chapter membership and posted to the Chapter website
• Applications must be submitted by April 12th, 2010
• Winners will be notified by phone and email by April 23rd 2010 and be officially presented with the award at the May 6th 2010 event
