Current Sponsors
The Iowa Chapter is one of 47 regional chapters affiliated with national HIMSS society helping to lead change in the healthcare information and management systems field through knowledge sharing, advocacy, collaboration, innovation and community affiliations. The Iowa Chapter is proud to be celebrating its 5th year in promoting professional growth through continuing education and sharing of information in healthcare information technology, quality and safety concerns. Membership can be obtained automatically by becoming a national member of HIMSS or by joining the local chapter.
The chapter has taken great pride in interweaving technology related issues with clinical issues and has done this through a strong contingency of healthcare professionals interested in informatics. Almost all meetings provide CEU credits related to Nursing Informatics, and we welcome all informatics professionals. We also seek and award CPHIMS credits.
For those of you who are exploring possibilities with us we welcome you to explore through our calendar of events the upcoming meetings and please join us.
Informational Sharing
During a Board retreat this past summer it was agreed to provide members an opportunity to post opinions, short articles, and/or reviews they felt would benefit the remaining members within our Web site. If you have read something of interest or want to write an opinion piece that would promote our professional development please submit it to one of the HIMSS Board members. The Board will review for possible posting along with the Board minutes and Speaker presentations.
Congratulations to Paul Foelsch – Iowa's Chapter Advocacy Liaison!
HIMSS congratulates all of the chapters that are participating in the Chapter Advocacy Liaison Recognition (CALR) Program. The program helps HIMSS coordinate an effective, sophisticated grassroots advocacy effort across the country.
